Essential Contacts
Don't worry if you're not sure who to contact - get in touch, and we'll point you in the right direction as needed.
COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
RDM has a vibrant public engagement and communications programme: if you're interested in communicating your work, developing your communications skills, advertising events, or would like a news story about your work on the RDM website, email communications@rdm.ox.ac.uk. This is also the address to email to set up your personal profile on the RDM website.
Finance and Grants
Each division of RDM has its own finance team and staff dedicated to the following areas: purchasing, payments and expenses, budgeting and reporting, grant applications (including costings and approvals) and grant management for existing awards.
Graduate Studies
Our Graduate Studies Team is here to support you during your time in Oxford. As well as overarching support at the departmental level, you will have a local support network into which you can feed views and concerns.
Health & Safety
Heads of Divisions and the MRC WIMM Director are responsible for safety within their areas. Day to day administration of safety policy is delegated to the local divisional safety officers and the local biological safety officers.
Harassment
We are committed to eliminating bullying and harassment. See our guidance on what constitutes harassing and/or bullying behaviour, along with information on RDM’s harassment advisors, plus support services available to staff and students.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Contact your local HR team for queries including recruitment, probation process, family leave, payroll and general employment advice.
IT support
The division of RDM in which you are based may have its own dedicated IT support team or officer/manager. In this instance these contacts should be your first port of call for any Information Technology support or advice. Alternatively, MSD IT also provides support.
Mental Health Support
A number of RDM staff have completed the mental health first-aid training course accredited by Mental Health England.
If you would like to talk, or feel some information would benefit a colleague, see our list of mental health first-aiders on the Mental Health Support page, where you will also find details of additional support available.
Research Strategy & Funding
The Research Strategy and Funding team provides tailored advice and guidance to research staff and students within the department who would like support in obtaining funding.
RDM STRATEGIC
RDM Strategic (RDMS) assists the Head of Department, Heads of Units, senior academics, PIs and unit administrators with work related to complex projects and strategic initiatives.
RDMS support activities such as graduate studies; research funding and strategy; equality, diversity and inclusion; outreach and communications.
