Gintare Smagurauskaite

Postdoctoral Researcher

Prior joining Bhattacharya group in 2020, I have completed my PhD in Cancer Studies and Molecular Medicine at the University of Leicester. My research focused on using chemopreventatives to treat, delay or prevent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

At Oxford, I have been involved in multiple projects – from developing, screening and testing chemokine inhibitors to generating disease models of inflammatory cardiomyopathies, arthritis, systemic and local inflammation. Recently, I have been developing iPSC-derived organoids of cardiac and vascular tissues and using these microtissues for modelling human inflammatory disease.
