Novo Nordisk Postdoctoral Research Fellow

I am a Novo Nordisk Postdoctoral Researcher at the interface of computational and molecular biology, focused on enhancing our understanding of metabolic diseases, particularly the relationship between type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Currently, I am part of the Mommersteeg group at the IDRM, where I use the Mexican Cavefish model to investigate how their unique immune investment strategy offers protection against metabolic disease, despite exhibiting characteristics typically associated with type II diabetes. In collaboration with the Choudhury group, I aim to evaluate these findings in other animal models or patients, with the goal of facilitating potential clinical translation.
