Voting is open! Some of our British Heart Foundation funded research has been shortlisted for the BHF Research Story of the Year award. Discover more and vote for our work into developing an AI tool to predict people’s risk of having a heart attack years before it happens.

Research that focuses on developing an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that can predict people's risk of having a heart attack up to 10 years before it happens, is up for the award.

In the first real-world trial of the AI tool in the NHS, the tool was found to improve treatment for up to 45 per cent of those examined, indicating that this technology could potentially save thousands of lives.
