DPhil Student
I am a medical student intercalating a DPhil in Cardiovascular Science funded by a scholarship from the British Heart Foundation (McKie McLean Class of 2022). I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Oxford, ranking top of the cohort in the 1st Bachelor of Medicine examinations.
My DPhil research investigates the molecular processes that instigate fibrosis of the heart. Cardiac fibrosis helps promote, initiate and sustain atrial fibrillation, the most common heart rhythm disturbance. Ultimately, my work aims to identify novel therapeutic targets for this recalcitrant arrhythmia.
