Head of Strategic Research Development
I am Head of Strategic Research Development in the RDM Research Strategy and Funding team. I am responsible for research strategy planning and development in RDM this includes:
- horizon scanning for new funding opportunities
- development of strategy and policy
- support for major bids and scientific initiatives
- overseeing RDM’s research funding portfolio
- support for PIs
- support for applications for Associate Professor and Full Professor titles
- oversight of communications and public engagement
I joined the University of Oxford in April 2023 from UK Research and Innovation where I held a number of roles in grant funding, research strategy and policy. I am a scientist by training, with a background in cell and molecular biology. After gaining my PhD from the University of Edinburgh I spent nine years in academic research at the University of Queensland and then the University of Texas.
