Dr Akshay Shah, part of the Drakesmith group, has been awarded an Academy of Medical Sciences for Clinical Lecturers. These grants provide up to £30,000 over 1-2 years for research costs, to support Clinical Lecturers who are looking to develop and strengthen their research careers.
Dr Shah will be working with Dr Andrew Armitage to understand inflammatory phenotypes, haemoglobin recovery and economic evaluation of treating anaemia in survivors of critical illness.
Dr Shah said "This work represents a long-standing collaboration between critical care academic clinicians, Professor Hal Drakesmith’s research group and Transfusion Medicine."
Many congratulations to Dr Shah.
