The Department has appointed Professor Thomas Milne as the new Departmental Advocate for Research Staff, and chair of RDM's Career Development Committee.
I'm delighted that Professor Milne will be taking on this important new role for the Department. His experience and skills will be a great boost to our commitment to support all of our research staff, and their career development.

In this role, he will be responsible for the following:
Providing academic strategic leadership contributing to the vision of providing a world-leading environment for research staff.
Supporting our research staff representatives and championing positive initiatives for research staff and research culture.
Contributing to the MSD Research Staff Forum, which identifies issues and reviews policies and practice related to the wellbeing, career development and working environment of researchers.
Promoting effective career development of all staff in the Department as Chair of the Career Development Committee.
