UKAS is the National Accreditation Body for the United Kingdom appointed by the government, to assess and accredit organisations that provide services including certification, testing, inspection, calibration, validation and verification.
The TAL is a state-of-the-art facility offering a comprehensive range of specialist laboratory tests for clinical trials in the UK and abroad. The laboratory has undergone a thorough UKAS assessment of the testing processes and met all required criteria to be accredited as a testing laboratory.
The accreditation demonstrates the facility’s technical competency to ensure the reliability and accuracy of analysis results and will give customers confidence in the high-quality service that the team provides.
Prof Paresh Vyas, academic lead for the TAL, said:
I am delighted that the TAL has secured UKAS accreditation. The TAL now provides quality-assured ISO-17525 accredited assays in biobanking, complex cell immunophenotyping, nucleic acid extraction and next-generation sequencing analysis to the highest standards for academic and industry-sponsored trials Phase 1 to Phase 3 clinical trials.
We will continue to expand of scope of work, working with investigators across the University of Oxford and beyond.
