Wai Yan Ryana Fok
Postdoctoral AI Research Scientist
I am an AI/ML/DL scientist with experience on multiple medical image modalities - MRI, CT, X-ray. Funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), my research focuses on developing generative AI techniques to advance cardiac MRI. By leveraging AI, we aim to enhance and characterise non-contrast cardiac MRI and thus detect and quantify the underlying cardiovascular disease. My current focus is myocardial infarction.
Before joining the team, I did my PhD at R&D Siemens Healthineers AG, and M.Sc. at Technical University of Munich, Germany, with a focus in Computer Science and Biomedical Computing. My master thesis focused in free-breathing cardiac MRI, and was conducted at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Additionally, I did a student research project at Klinikum rechts der Isar Munich, for which I developed deep learning methods to predict multiple pH compartments in hyperpolarized 13C-MRSI . My bachelor was Biomedical Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
